As the product of my next video diary for HRTV, I will be following Lentenor as he prepares for his race Wednesday, Feb. 16th. Lentenor is the full brother to famed champion “Barbaro”. Though there is very high hopes for this colt, tomorrow’s race will be pivital in establishing the talent this young horse may have for racing; and if he wind, could he have a chance to live up to his siblings popularity.

I’m trying not to speak too soon, but with all the interest in Barbaro and his story, I thought it fitting to mention Lentenor broke his maiden in the last race at Gulfstream Park last weekend. Racing against stiff competition, in his third start and first as a 3-year-old, Lentenor went off as the even-money favorite in the 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight contest. Will this Matz trained colt shine a bright spot on sad remembrances? only time will tell.
